What is the Junior Master Gardener Program? – The Junior Master Gardener (JMG) program is modeled after the highly successful Master Gardener program and offers horticultural and environmental science education, and leadership and life skills development through fun and creative activities. This program is committed to helping young people become good gardeners, good stewards of the environment, and good citizens so they can make a positive contribution to their community, school, and family. The JMG program incorporates group and individual activities, and is supported by a JMG youth handbook.

4H office by December 15th, 2011.

Training Classes:

  • Wednesday – January 18, 2011 -  6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
    –> Parents are encouraged to attend this first informational meeting.
  • Wednesday – February 1, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – February 15, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – February 29, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – March 14, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – March 28, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – April 11, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Wednesday – April 25, 2011 – 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
  • Saturday – May 12, 2011 – 8:30 AM – 2:00 PM
    –>This will be a workshop with the Adult Master Gardeners. JMGs will receive 5 hours towards their community service for attending this workshop.

Regular Meetings:

  • Wednesday – June 20, 2012 – Will be learning outside, please wear appropriate shoes for shoveling and clothing.
  • Wednesday – July 18, 2012 (preparation for fair display)
  • Wednesday/Thursday – End of July beginning of August, will be at fairgrounds for set up. Will be advised as soon as the fair dates are set.
  • Wednesday – September 19th, 2012 – May be learning outside, dependent on weather conditions, please wear appropriate shoes/clothing.
  • Wednesday – October 17th, 2012 – May be learning outside, dependent on weather conditions, please wear appropriate shoes/clothing.
  • Wednesday – November 21, 2012
  • December 2012 – no meeting
  • January 2013 – no meeting
